AIM
The course will focus on ensuring that Supervisors
know how to comply with the Law, enabling them to
reduce the risk of costly accidents, bad publicity
and disrupted production. They are after all personally
liable.
OBJECTIVES
This is a 1-day course that gives Supervisors a
clear picture of their legal duties under the Health
and Safety at Work Act 1974, Management of Health
and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 and other associated
Regulations.
COURSE CONTENT
• Ensuring
Health and Safety - Emphasising the need to be
proactive about Health & Safety
rather than just reacting to major accidents or cases
of ill health.
• Health
and Safety Management- Dealing with supervisors
Health & Safety
responsibilities.
• Legal
Requirements - Explanation of general themes common
to much Health & Safety Legislation,
including an introduction to risk assessment processes.
• Safety
Inspections – Monitoring
Health & Safety
in the work place . Maintaining safe systems of work.
• Accident/Incident
Investigation – Focusing
on root causes of accidents involves candidate participation
in role playing exercise.
