Start Rigorous Training Programme

Over 70, keen, high achieving school leavers, started Vocational Training at KITS on Monday 10th August 2009
The Apprenticeship and Advanced Apprenticeship programmes in Mechanical Engineering include Fabrication, Electrical and Motor Vehicle and can take up to 4 years to complete.
A number of learners have been fortunate enough to start with employment status, sponsored by local Engineering or Manufacturing companies.
David Todhunter CEO at KITS said:
"It is delightful to see such positive and enthusiastic youngsters who have come through a demanding recruitment process of aptitude testing and structured interviewing – competition for places as high as 7:1 ratio"
David Todhunter went on to say:
"Despite the gloomy news earlier this week about the number of youngsters neither in employment, education or training (NEETs) this is a success story both in National and Local arenas - our challenge this year as with other years is to engage with all relevant stakeholders to secure the most appropriate employment prospects for these highly trained, soon to be qualified Engineers"
