New LEP Apprenticeship Grant for Employers.

The LEP (Leeds Enterprise Partnership) have launched a new Apprenticeship Grant, aimed at SME businesses who have taken on their first ever Apprentice within the local authority areas of Bradford, Calderdale, Kirklees, Leeds, Wakefield and York.

The grant is worth between £1500 to £2000 for eligible employers.

If you are an employer of a KITS Apprentice, are a SME business with fewer than 50 employees; and have taken on your  first ever Apprentice – then you may be eligible. The Apprentice must be aged between 19 and 24 years, have started their Apprenticeship learning programme since 1 August 2018 and be following a recognised Apprenticeship in Engineering and Manufacturing (including Motor Vehicle).

The grant launched in August 2018 and we are encouraging businesses to check their eligibility. You can do this by visiting www.the-lep.com/age

If you would like more information about the Grant, all the criteria and how to apply you can contact The Employer Engagement Team on 01484 711462.
