Checkpoint Car Care are working with KITS to add another Apprentice Light Vehicle Mechanic to their team. Staying at the forefront of the latest technology while retaining their knowledge of older classic vehicles, and they everything we can to use local companies, service people & products.
Using OES (Original Equipment Specification) parts and trying to be environmentally friendly where possible, even becoming HYBRID qualified & trying to recycle as much waste as possible
Responsibilities and Duties:
As an Apprentice Light Vehicle Technician you will service and repair vehicles such as cars and vans. You will be trained in all aspects of vehicle mechanics and electronics including air conditioning, security features, engine and exhaust systems.
Duties of a Light Vehicle Apprentice include:
• Servicing vehicles – carrying out checks and maintaining vehicles according to the manufacturers’ guidelines.
• Repairing and replacing faulty parts and components.
• Advising about required repairs to the service department and to customers.
• Producing time estimates.
• Maintaining repair and service records
The successful Apprentice will be working to a Level 3 Motor Vehicle Service & Maintenance Technician (Light Vehicle) Apprenticeship Standard
Ideally the candidates require a GCSE grade “C” or the new grade 4. Functional skills level 2 or be able to achieve these as they are part of the qualification.
Driving Licence is preferential giving you will be working with vehicles.
Work experience in the trade would be of benefit but not essential
An interest and knowledge about the chosen apprenticeship pathway should be demonstrated.
The Candidate must be able to communicate to a high standard.
The Candidate must, above all else be willing to work and be punctual and reliable.
