AIMS & OBJECTIVES:
The CCNSG Safety Passport scheme aims to ensure a basic knowledge of a range of health and safety matters for all site personnel to enable them, after the appropriate site induction, to work on site more safely with lower risk to themselves and others.
The scheme aims to encourage the development of a positive health and safety culture, which benefits clients, employers and employees.
Possession of a valid card is a requirement for many clients who employ contractors on their sites.
Module 1 Understanding personal site safety responsibilities
Causes of accidents; Behaviour; Safety barriers and control measures; Personal choices and attitudes to safety
Module 2 H&S Legislation, guidance and safe systems of work
Health and Safety law; Communication and accident reporting; HSE and enforcement; Safe systems of work
Module 3 Common hazards at work
Fire; Manual Handling; Work Equipment; Noise; Work at Heights, Lifting Operations
Module 4 Other hazards, safety signs and PPE
Hazardous Substances; Asbestos; Confined Spaces; The Environment; Site Transport; Warning Signs; PPE
Examination – Multiple choice test after each module
The Safety Passport issued on successful completion will be valid for three years, and is renewable at the end of that three year period, with 3 months leeway either side of the expiry date.
