The Engineering Study Programme is the perfect route into Engineering and is the starting point for progression into full time employment through an Apprenticeship. It will help you decide if Engineering is for you and what type of Engineering Apprenticeship; Mechanical, Electrical or Fabrication you want to start on. You will attend KITS full time (Monday to Friday) for 16 weeks. During these 16 weeks you will cover:
The Level 1 Diploma in Engineering and Manufacture is an introduction to Engineering and the Engineering industry. You will cover a mixture of classroom based portfolio work learning the theory side Of the qualification and hands on practical sessions in the workshop.
English and Maths:
If you have not achieved a GCSE C/4 or above, or the equivalent Functional Skills, you will complete these qualifications again during this 16 week Study Programme.
Practical work experience is a vital part of the Study Programme. It will give you the opportunity to spend time in an Engineering company and get a feel for what it can be like working in this industry. It may help you decide which route or pathway you want to follow specifically. The work experience that you undertake will be 3 days longs. It may also act as a working interview for a possible Apprenticeship opportunity.

The Engineering Study Programme will prepare you for an Apprenticeship, which is the natural progression on from the Level 1 Study Programme. During this time we will be working with you to secure job interviews for Apprenticeship roles to allow you to start on the Apprenticeship in your chosen pathway.
